It is like a heartbeat that comes and goes, one by one they walk to the other side, it is fading away and nothing more on their side are left.

“I love you,” he whispered into her ear. “It’ll be okay. We’ll be okay.”

Her head was bowed as he embraced her from behind. There was a beat – a pause – before she nodded her head and lifted her hardened gaze; brows furrowed with determination and understanding.

“I love you too,” she whispered.

In their world, they were all that mattered.

Just her. Just him. The two of them.

Only the two of them – always the both of them – together. Always.

She was tired of fighting anyway. They both were. Being made to fight against each other exhausted them. There was no more will, no more obligation to continue fighting. They’ve realized they don’t have to keep fighting. They can end it. They can end it and be together.

Frozen in Space

I'd almost forgotten
The warmth of your breath
On the back of my neck

Help me remember
The feel of the grass
A soft bed for us

Sweeten my memory
With lovely rose petals
Red velvet imitates flesh

Frozen in a frame
Of delicate bones
My soul is attached

No eyes to see
No skin to feel
No sound at all

I've woefully forgotten
The whisper of music
That was your voice

Skeletons preserved
But nobody knew
The marrow contains the soul

Forever in limbo
Limbs intertwined
Frozen in time and space

As we lay,
Waiting for our impending doom
the stars,
they shine so brightly
so much like your eyes on a summers morn

I hold you
tightly to my warmth,
to my soul

as we take our last breaths of each others love,
we can rest,
rest in our souls knowing that,
even for our last breaths we knew we were complete
and will one day be together again

i never wanna leave you
i wont run from this
i need you
to show me the way
the way,
to the heavens,
and your angelic arms

Lord,
As we lay here, may we ask for Your blessing:
Keep us warm when we're cold,
Happy when we're down,
Optimistic when it looks like there's no escape.
But when the end is near and there is no escape,
Please, Lord, let us come to You without pain.
Our love will bind us together
and You will make us survive.

One last

As we huddle here, now
We are only just
just a mere memory for your imagination
the wounded stare patiently, the sick unwanted
Close but not near the children stay
crawling apart like a child unwrapping Christmas morning
somewhere along the road we aborted time
or time has us unrest
The fire dwindles now
It doesn’t have long to live
Maybe if we stay long enough we will be ok
Safe from time, safe from death
today we survived but the fire is our controller
Tomorrow death comes to our feet, bowing but not waning
Flesh rots, eyes swallowed by the very fear that has kept us
Death grabs us now, by the cheek, pulling us along
. . . One last love ends with a simple acknowledgeable hug

she had a secret, whispering
"i like you better than
everything in the sky"
a kiss of death

rib to rib, thigh to thigh
ashes to ashes, dust to dust
one last kiss before we go
far beyond the knowledge of any homo sapien:

analysis:

crushed bodies, fused together
huddling for body warmth
perhaps poisoned by one another
far beyond the reach of any antidote

two souls, bones entwined
shackled to the ball and chain of time
maybe beaten beyond recognition
far beyond the help of any doctor

he had a secret, whispering
"these violent delights
have violent ends"
a drop of poison
